The Kamloops Chinese Cultural Association is one of the oldest and most established Chinese community non-profit organizations in Kamloops, Canada. With a long-standing local heritage, the association has long been committed to promoting traditional Chinese culture, organizing annual traditional Chinese folk events, serving local Chinese residents, and managing the historic Kamloops Chinese Cemetery as an important part of local multicultural heritage preservation.
Before the renovation project, the association’s official website had been operating on an extremely outdated framework built with obsolete table-based web layout technology. The original site suffered from rigid layout design, extremely limited visual content, sparse imagery, outdated hyperlink structures and zero responsive adaptation. Unable to fit modern browsing standards, the old website failed to showcase the association’s rich cultural activities, community services and historical legacy, resulting in poor user experience and insufficient online publicity capabilities. To revitalize its digital image and upgrade community service capabilities, the association entrusted our team with a full-scale official website redesign, reconstruction and visual upgrade project.
Challenges
- The original website adopted outdated table layout architecture popular decades ago
- The entire page structure was rigid, stylistically outdated and visually monotonous
- There was no responsive design mechanism, resulting in disordered page layout, misplaced elements and poor readability on mobile phones, tablets and other mobile devices
- The website lacked an information search system, making it difficult for users to efficiently retrieve activity records, cultural introductions and community service information.

Our team provided a complete turnkey solution covering website architecture reconstruction, UI redesign, functional development, on-site photography and full-site deployment, realizing a comprehensive upgrade from outdated legacy site to modern official portal.

Outcomes
This website renovation project successfully completed the digital upgrading and modern transformation of a legacy community non-profit website. We effectively solved various pain points of old-generation table-built websites such as backward technology, single function, no adaptation and poor visuals.
Based on the actual operation scenarios of the Chinese cultural association, we balanced cultural inheritance display and modern internet experience, realizing dual upgrades of website technology and brand image. The project fully demonstrates our professional capabilities in legacy website reconstruction, customized functional development, visual packaging and full-cycle one-stop service, providing a mature renovation template for the digital renewal of traditional overseas Chinese community organizations.
